Show Capa capacity eity crowd attends P T A two hundred ninety six parents filled the tooele thoele central school auditorium to overflowing tuesday november 9 at 7 30 pm for the special parents and teachers meeting the school chorus sang hive five num bers which were enthusiastically received principal N howard jen jeri sen was the main speaker for the evening the theme of his talk was how pupils learn the meaning of democracy he stressed the fact that too few ever think of the obi lations they assume as members of our democracy too many are prone to enjoy a the rights without assuming the aties he urged parents to keep open minds and do a great deai deal of think ng before drawing con cius ons in 1931 an average of 84 pupils were eating lunches at school on november 8 1948 61 02 pupils a hot lunch in the school lunch room another pupils brought sack lunches from home and ate at school this made a total of pupils eating at school the school enrollment is parents were asked to help the teachers by sending the correct change to school for lunches they were also asked to mark all coats coals hats and other articles pupils bring to school there are over ar tides in the lost and found box at the central school all the way from handkerchiefs to good coats the school has an average en grollment roll ment of 37 pupils per teacher at the close of the meeting a check was made to see what room had the largest percent of parent parents in attendance first place honor went to mrs jensens hensens first grade room toom w with ith 57 of the parents in attendance miss long and mrs ell agton s fifth grade classes were aed tied for second place with 56 of he the parents present the parents voted to organize a i regular P T A for the tooele thoele central school |
