thousand five hundred fish planted in this county to date that is a lot of fish for the water we have in this county the fishermen in this county have their game ward en mr roy garrard the tooele thoele unit of the utah Sports sportsmen mens s As and the tooele thoele wild life federation to thank for obtaining these fish from the state fish and game commission I 1 am probably sticking my neck out when I 1 say this but I 1 would like to see the day come that be fore anyone could buy a fishing or hunting I 1 censes they would first have to produce a member ship card certifying that they are members of some sportsmen s as too many people think that when they buy fishing and hunting license that they should find plenty of fish and game where ever and when ever they care to go they don t seem to realize that these sportsmen s eions are continually fighting to get gl more fish and game and that they would not today be enjoying very good hunting and fishing if it were not for these organizations where would tooele thoele county be it if it were not for the two very active organizations we have here they may differ in their ways of obtain ing results but they are both really fighting for the same cause what about our deer herd it would have been wiped out long ago if it ent for these two groups being constantly on the alert there was more vi legislation introduce intro duc ed both state and national this year to destroy our wildlife and wildlife resources than ever before in the history of this country it was the organized sportsmen who ought fought this legislation tooth and toe oe nail if it were not for them we might have had to trade our guns and fishing rods in for knit ting ing needles and stayed home by the fire OUR PHEASANT CROP from all the information I 1 can gather we have had an extra large latch hatch of pheasants this year erda grantsville Grants ville and lincoln especially report lots of young birds hatched mr ross leonard state iash and game director advised me mon day ay that his department is ready to begin planting pheasants all ov er the state last year we receive ed fourteen hundred birds and this year we should exceed that a mount both organizations here in the county will be asked to get their heads together and determine the areas to be planted there will be no planting on posted areas HOLD THAT DOG you fellows that have hunting dogs and are anxious to take them out in the field for a little practice and break ing in are requested by mr gar rard to hold them in for about abou tone a more month he said that there is still a lot of newly hatched pheas ants running around and that they might be killed or frightened away from the protection of the mother I 1 have a wild english setter I 1 am very anxious to get out with but I 1 guess I 1 had better hold oft off a while BUCK IN WEST MOUNTAINS there should be at least one buck in the west mountains next season reason last week roy garrard took the four year old buck that mr sam clark has been raising and turned him loose in south willow canyon he has been ear marked and it reads B B no this deer was raised from a fawn by mr dark clark who found it caught in his fence four years ago mr clark obtained a game farm permit from the fish and game depart ment in order to raise this deer it was getting rather poor and just a little bit mean so mr clara clark de aided that it was best to turn it loose it will be interesting to hear of when and where it is finally killed LOOSE YOUR LICENSE in case you loose your hunting and fishing license here Is how to get a
