Show Senior Citizen news notes . .; . The P Vi ri' o t i ur j , . .The Christmas and Birthday party combo celebrated Saturday night, Dec. 16th, was a huge success. There were 60 Senior Citizens who attended. The Dec. birthdays birth-days were for Howard Balsley, Bess Youvon, Fred Lathrop, Enola Ellis and Harold Slaugh. Birthday Birth-day cakes were made and donated by Goldie Barks, Sylvia Woodard, Elma Lee Elderkin, Lois Lathrop and Jen Pope. The other Seniors present brought sandwiches of all kinds, potato chips, olives, stuffed stuff-ed celery and cheese. The Moabites furnished the coffee and punch. After the program of readings, and Christmas jokes by Elma Lee Elderkin, Lois and Fred Lathrup. Four young girls came in and tap danced to Jingle Bells from their dancing class, the group sang Christmas Carols; Rosalie Robertson sang a solo, in Spanish and Ralph Price sang a solo in German of "Silent Night." Gifts were given out to each present and dancing and dominos was the diversion of the evening. Notice! After Dec. 29th-Madge 29th-Madge Warde, Coordinator Coordin-ator for Grand County Senior Citizens, is retiring, retir-ing, so please do not call her telephone number for dinner reservations. Call the Senior Citizen Center Tel. Number 259-6623. Dixie Leech is the new Senior Citizen Director, so call her. There was no Senior Citizen dinner Monday, Dec. 18th, on account of so many cancellations due to snow and slick roads. But there will be dinner Wednesday, Dec. 20th, and Friday, Dec. 22., weather permiting. |
