Show Moab 4-H Club J (1JS) News Notes I The 4-H program is one of the important extensions of each state's land-grant college or university an off-campus laboratory of learning. Numerous volunteer leaders lead-ers give extensive time, talents, tal-ents, and personal resources to support 4-H. 4-H's purpose is to help young people become self-directing, self-directing, productive and con-, tributing members of society. More specifically, its objectives object-ives are to help young people to: 1. Develop inquiring minds. 2. Learn practical skills. 3. Acquire positive attitudes atti-tudes toward self. 4. Improve skills in communication com-munication and self-expression. 5. Develop concern for uv volvement in community and public affairs. 6. Increase leadershiop capabilities. cap-abilities. Have you ever considered a "family" garden club invovl-ing invovl-ing the entire family working together to produce part of their family food supply. During the past few years seed packets have been available avail-able to 4-H'ers. Members will this year be able to order specifically what seeds he would like in his packet. Ones interested in enrolling in a gardening project or purchasing purchas-ing seed packets may call Mrs. Sharon Guymon, 259-5204, for further information. |
