Show Total Mi!! Levy Up By 6.6 Mills ere Crand County Commissioners Commis-sioners met in special ses-si' ses-si' r, Tuesday afternoon to officially set the total mill levy aiross the County for the coming year. A raise of G.G mills was approved, raising the levy from 7!). 00 for Moab City residents to SC.20 mills. The levy shows an in crease of l.G mills in the fire distrct, 3 mills for the. school district and 2 mills for the County. The raise, although it will not completely com-pletely fill the pap made by loss in revenues and taxes, will brinjr about $30,000 into Grand County coffers, and more for the school and fire district. It would have taken a full four mills for the County Coun-ty to make up their revenue reven-ue loss. They took only half of that amount. School district dis-trict officials also indicated indicat-ed that their 3 mill increase- would not make up for all losses in revenue. Those persons who livo in Moab valley outside of the city limits will be assessed as-sessed G8.20 mills compared to 61.G0 mills a year age. They have only a five mill increase since they are not within the fire district. Residents of the Elgir.. mosquito abatement dis- trict will be paying 66.70 mills instead of the 61.70 mills of a year ago. Green River City residents who live in Grand County will also be increased from 37.70 mills to 92.70 mills. The County plans to make up its loss in monies mon-ies by borrowing from the surplus which they have accumulated over the yeara. When the surplus is depleted, de-pleted, they will be required re-quired to change from a ,cash basis to borrowing on tax anticipation. |
