Nolan blessed his new granddaughter. Amanda Cumy Mecham. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Mecham. The little Lady was named after her two grandmothers. Amanda Curtis and Cumy Duncan. She was born April 27. on her grandmother Duncan's birthday. EKKERS CONVERGE UN ROOST Mrs. Arthur Thurston returned re-turned home Friday from a trip to the Roost whore she picked up her son. Lee Thurston, who had been spending a few days with his grandfather. Arthur Ekker. She hurried home to get Let and Laurel ready for a week's trip to Canyonlands and SE Utah and SW Colorado vacation vaca-tion areas. During her stay a; the Roost. Reba Bennett ai:d Julia Cheskaty visited, as did Glen and Riter Ekker. She states it was old home week every minute. However, she was not able to stay long enough to visit with the Eddyjo Ekkers. who were due in from California with a car and trailer, a camper and eight motorcycles. This sounded like a fun crowd, too. VISITS IN INDIANA Mr. and Mrs. Larry Carter and children Candy. Kimbtr-lv. Kimbtr-lv. Leon, and Justin drove to Sunman. Indiana to visit Larry's Mom and Dad. While there, the Carter family all got together at the family home, with about 60 people in all-day attendance. The Carter home is set among massive shade trees, and just across the road from a forest. Dorothy Ann says that she and the children especially enjoyed the trees and the lush greenery. While the Carters were gone. Bryan Ross stayed home and kept things going at the lntermountain Truck Stop. NEWLYWEDS Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Ross, who were recently married in Arizona have moved into the rental property of Mr. and Mrs. Rev Lloyd Hatt--the Aunty Tina house. Bryan is working for Larry Carter, and he and Becky are quickly joining the young crowd, since Bryan grew up here. SPEAKS AT MEDICAL CONVENTION Nurse Practitioner Sue Allen spoke at the Utah Health Systems Agency convention at the Homestead in Heber City on Thursday. She chose as her topic. Rural Health Care in Utah, and cited here experiences experien-ces in the Medical Clinics here and at Bullfrog Marina as illustrations of her activities. A film from Utah Valley Hopital on Rural Health was also presented. Mrs. Allen took Amber to visit her grandmother and aunt, just her age. in Orem during the assignment. On their way home a car just in front of them left the road, turned over several times and threw out two of the passengers. passen-gers. Sue stopped, set up a first-aid station, got some traffic directors going, and got the situation in hand. The people were badly bruised, scraped and with broken bones, so that icepacks were desperately need. One fellow-donated fellow-donated several pieces of frozen meat for this purpose, and a tourist came along with a block of ice, which was chipped and wrapped in towels. When the ambulance arrived, the patients were in pretty good condition in spite of the hot day, thanks to the expert care of Nurse Practitioner Practi-tioner Allen and her helpers. BULLFROG MEDICAL CLINIC Nurse Practitioner Sue Allen and daughter Amber spent the weekend at Lake Powell, where Mrs. Allen runs the Medical Clinic. This is the third weekend the clinic has been in operation, and it is beginning to be a going concern. About a dozen patients were treated for cuts and other accidental injuries. On the Memorial Day weekend, several patients were treated; one little boy from Blanding being hurried across the lake from Halls Crossing for treatment for a rattlesnake bite. He had stuck his hand down in a hole to see what was down in there and a rattlesnake in the hole took exception to the invasion of his privacy by nailing the youngster young-ster on the finger. BUILDING PERMITS The Grand County Commission Com-mission this week took action to require anyone living or operating businesses in the Green River and Elgin portions por-tions of Grand County to obtain a Grand County building build-ing permit from Larry Brun-dage, Brun-dage, building inspector, before be-fore any construction or re- modeling work is done.
