Administrators at the high school report that 3(i6 students have registered for classes there so far compared with 37o who completed the year last spring. Some 445 students completed complet-ed the year at the Junior High last spring and this year that school shown an increase to 512 students. A sharp decrease in student stud-ent enrollment was noted at Southeast Elementary where only 544 students are registered register-ed for classes this year compared com-pared with 622 who ended the 1970-71 school year there. A small drop in numbers is also noted at Helen M. Knight Elementary where 480 students stud-ents are registered this year compared with 4!Jl who attended atten-ded there last year. The first week of school traditionally tra-ditionally picks up a numbjr of students who have not pre-registered pre-registered prior to that time and this yf ir 127 students have been added to the rolls since last Wednesday. School district officials stated sta-ted that they were pleased with the enrollment and said that it was very close to what they had expected. |
