Show Local Poetry Recognized in Nat. Publication Two Grand County Junior I5l'-;h School students received receiv-ed rr-cctfnition this week after af-ter having their original pce-try printed in a national publication for student writings wri-tings . Charme Young and Ginger Gin-ger W.nder, bclh under the supervision of Hon Ferguson, Fergu-son, ninth grrde English instructor, in-structor, submitted a piece cf original poetry to a contest con-test sponsored by the National Na-tional High School Poetry Press of Los Angeles, Calif. Their poems appear in the 1970 edition of "Young America Am-erica Sings," a hardback book published by the company. According to Thercn John-sen, John-sen, Grand Comity Junior High School Principal, most cf the writings appearing in the publicalici have been witUten by high school stu-d:n!s, stu-d:n!s, with only a few recognitions rec-ognitions given on a junior high rchcol level. He also indicated that Mr. Ferguson, in his advanced English class, does an extensive unit each year cn creative writ' :,ng, both poetry and prose. |
