Chamber member Dixie Barker indicated that such a committee should be formulated for-mulated with the idea of doing nothing but soliciting solicit-ing conventions which now could be adequately handled hand-led by this area. Other Chamber members mem-bers voiced their support of the proposal and suggested sug-gested that in the formulation formu-lation of any such committee, com-mittee, both the motel and cafe owners should be consulted con-sulted so that their business busi-ness would be helped and not hurt by the added people peo-ple in town. Limitation cf size of the conventions and some restrictions as to when they would be here would be necessary, it was felt, so that regular patrons pa-trons of the motels and cafes would not find themselves without adequate ade-quate facilities. Chamber Vice President Jiay Branscom indicated that more concerning this matter would be discussed and a committee would be appointed upon the return of President Blaine U. Shields next week. Those members present at the Tues. meeting unanimously unani-mously voiced their sup-- port of a suggestion by I.es Kibes that a letter be sent to State Legislators objecting to any consideration consider-ation of a Sunday Closing Law during the next session ses-sion of the Legislature to begin in two weeks.
