Show Federated Women Met In Green River The Winter Board Meeting of the Eastern District, U.F.W.C. was convened, Feb.i 12, 1977, at 9:30 a.m. at the Book Cliffs Restaurant, Green River, Utah, with District President Mrs. Donald Hatch as chairman and Green River Women's Club as the hostess. Five past district presidents presi-dents were present. Several state chairmen and President of Western States, S.F.W.C., Mrs. Lee J.. Diamanti, of Helper Woman's Club attended. attend-ed. Others from the Southern area of Eastern District Woman's Wo-man's Literary Club of Moab were President Mrs. Del 1 Shermer, district secretary and publicity chairman Mrs. Ann Pool, district home life chairman Mrs. Harold Jacobs, district CLP. chairman Mrs. Jen Pope. From Rebus Rata Club of Monticello were President Presi-dent Mrs. Lee Rickey, mem-bers-Mrs. F. W. Whitaker, Mrs. James U. Shannon. From Green River Woman's club were Mrs. Florence How-land, How-land, district public affairs chairman Mrs. Ted Ekker, district treasurer Mrs. Leland Tidwell, president Mrs. Edna Anderegg and members Mrs. Pearl Baker and Mrs. Bruce Nelson. Music w?s by three Green River girls: Conae Burr, Tammy Tam-my Ekker, and Jan Nielson. Guest speaker was Mr. Bill Long of the Division of Family Services who spoke on "The developmentally disabled" which include mentally handicapped, handi-capped, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, epi-lepsy, autism, dislexia and other neurological disorders and covered education, funding, fund-ing, group homes etc. A tree for Perception Park for the Handicapped in memory of Mrs. Rey Humphry of Or-angeville Or-angeville was pledged by the group. Mrs. Humphrey was a long-time member of federation, federa-tion, past district president and the Ladies Improvement Club, died this year. Reports were made by presidents and department chairmens and plans for district convention to be held April 23 in Monti-cello Monti-cello were made. Western State Convention will be March 15, 16, and 17 in Anaheim, California, UFWC Convetion May 5, 6, and 7 in Provo, Utah and the club will honor a clubwoman of the year at the district convention. |
