Show Girl Scot Day Camp Ends Sessions Held at Pack Creek Theme for this year's Girl Scout Day Camp held at Pack Creek campground recently was "Howl - A - Lot." Mrs. Robert Ames directed the camp, assisted by Pat Gentry. Gen-try. Registering the scouts was Mrs. Walter Lea and Mrs. D. L. Oliveto, Utah Council staff advisor, attended at-tended all five days of the camp. Activities for the five day camp included sand painting Jeaf printing, rock art sculpturing scul-pturing and making tepees and hogans similar to ones used by Indians in this area. An Indian story contest was also held along with nature and trail hikes. Meals were cooked outdoors. Robin Henningson taught care and use of the knife, Mrs. Duane Wimmer instructed instr-ucted the group in macrame. Jerry Hofer of the U.S. Forest For-est Service lead a discussion on ecology. Other residents of Moab were also invited to give demonstrations and Jac-quie Jac-quie Gelo discussed - Indian life in the Southeast with the group while Carl Mike-sell Mike-sell talked to the scouts about ab-out Flora in the area. Unit leaders for the outing out-ing were Mrs. Ron Turner, Mrs. Brent Duncan, Mrs. 01-ney, 01-ney, Mrs. Jack Daniels, Mrs. Chester Neal, Mrs. Haley Tibbitts, Mrs. Larry Hixon, Mrs. Arthur Rogers of Monticello, Mon-ticello, Mrs. Bud Price, Mrs. William Shelton and . Mrs. James D .Helm. Senior aide was Teresa Posey . and cadet helpers were Teresa Munden, Claudia Clau-dia Carter and Cathy Patterson. Patter-son. Mrs. Lyle Jameson and ,. Naomi Oliver . were. nursesir,. for the group and other helpers help-ers were Mrs. Ward Tucker and Mrs. Claude Lightfoot. The group expressed thanks to Dr. Paul Mayberry for furnishing first aid supplies and to the bus driver for (providihg transportation. A special thanks was given to parents of the girls who attended. |
