Show Governor names new UDOT director Dr. William D. Hurley, 50, was "". Tied by Governor Scott M. Matheson on Tuesday as the new director of the Utah Department of Transportation, effective immediately. immed-iately. He will replace Blaine J. Kay, who was recently relieved of the directorship but will remain with the department if he desires. Dr. Hurley, who holds a doctorate in civil engineering, is presently UDOT District 2 Director in Salt Lake City. He is a 1951 graduate of the University of Utah, nnd received his Ph.D. tnere m 5 72. He is aho a pr? iu.te. of Judge Memorial High Scnool. He has been District 2 Director for two years, and previously was District Director in District 3, head-quartered in Richfield, for three years. He was been with UDOT since 1962. Gov. Matheson named Hurley from a list of three nominees submitted to him by the UDOT Commission, and his appointment must receive State Senate confirmation. |
