E Pace well well- known and loved livestock mail mart and rancher ranch ranch- er of Castle Valley Mr Pace passed pissed away Tuesday at Moab following a n long illness He had lived in Moab since retiring from the active livestock business several years ago Mr Pace came to southeastern Utah in 1887 from his original home and birthplace birthplace birth birth- place Payson Utah His brother Sid preceded preceded pre pre- ceded him here by several years and was responsible for Johns John's first visit Through industry and thrift Mr l Pace with his hist wife Ann built one of the most beautiful t and prosperous ranch estates in the west and they were well-known well for their hos hos- Though the family ranch has changed chang chang- ed hands several times in the past ten years years it will always be known as The Pa Pace e ranch to those who thrill at its beauty and picturesque setting when entering entering en en- Castle Valley from the Colorado river road It stands today as tribute to the man who built it and made it famous |
