Show I Enthused Scouts Return From FromI I Colorado Springs Jamboree Jambore Six SU enthusiastic Moab MoaD boys returned recently from a ten ten- day camping experience at ten ten-I the tha World Boy Scout Jamboree Jambore I held In Colorado Springs Colo Cola I Attending the event were Mi Ml 1 chael chaet Brown Zeke Francis i Chuck Loveridge Leslie Young I John Williams and Bob Mayhew 1 I All the boys are arc members of Troop except Leslie Lesle Young I who belongs to Troop II i iThe I The group left by special Scout train from Crom Thompson arriving in Colorado Springs the tha following morning En route to I Ithe the Jamboree site the boys via vis- Royal Gorge The Scouts report fun-filled fun days Meeting as many as possible possible possible pos pos- sible of the boys from all allover over the world and of 50 of our states was a full time Job in It It- It self Along with swapping Items of with other Scouts the Moab group entered Into I many activities centered around I competitive events in loggers personal fitness and pi pioneering pl- pl j fields Jamboree Adventure Adventure Ad Ad- venture Awards were given to the Moab boys They also particIpated participated in lectures and demonstrations demonstrations demonstrations demon demon- in soil soU conservation and rifle marksmanship Aside from educational activities activities the boys were entertained with fireworks displays Jet plane demonstrations sj programs featuring TV and movie personalities personalities personalities person person- a rodeo and sightseeing Traveling via bus the Scouts Visited Denver museums museums and zoos the Garden of the Gods where they enjoyed a barbecue p. p i in I 1 the Air Force Academy and an amusement park All attended church services on Sunday It is interesting to note that the Scouts did their own cookIng cooking cook cook- Ing washing and cleaning durIng during during dur dur- I ing the Jamboree Each boy shared a tent with another Scout and each boy took look turns turm I doing camp chores horH i i One One of ot the highlights of at the trip was the visit of President Eisenhower who passed within a Q few feet teet of the Moab Scouts Some of the boys were able to take lake pictures Another unforgettable unforgettable table sight was the closing night ceremony when all the Jamboree I.
