Show I Many Mourn Death of Well Known Mrs Hulda Nielson 92 Moab's oldest citizen Mrs Hulda Nielson 92 affectionately known as Grandma Nielson by her many friends passed away last Friday at her home at 1145 a. a m. m The well known and highly respected lady who just recently celebrated her birthday with an open house had been in good health until her unexpected unexpected unexpected un un- un- un expected death Friday Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Moab ward chapel church with Bishop Melvin Dalton in charge Burial was in the Grand Valley cemetery in Moab under the direction of the Turner Funeral Home Mrs Nielson came to Moab in 1935 after participating in tn three pioneer movements to parts of Utah She was born in Millard county In the old oldtown oldtown oldtown town of Deseret on March 10 1866 Her maiden name was Hulda Deseret Allred As a young woman woman wo wo- vo- vo man she pioneered in Emery county In 1915 Mrs Nielson and her husband Joseph Nielson who vho she married on February 14 1884 homesteaded seventeen miles east of Monticello at Lock Lock- erby Mr Nielson preceded his wife in death in 1929 Many relatives and friends called at her home in Moab in March to honor her on her birthday Mrs Nielson's Nielsen's annual birthday open house was a popular popular popular pop pop- ular event and one she l looked forward to to each year Funeral services attended by bya a capacity crowd on Monday were as follows The opening song Sometime Well We'll Understand was rendered by the Singing Mothers of both Moab wards This was followed followed followed fol fol- fol- fol lowed by the opening prayer by bya a grandson of the deceased matron matron matron ma ma- tron Larry Nielson The Singing Mothers continued with In the Sweet By and By followed by a talk by Joe Mrs Gwyn Meador then sang I I wouldn't Trade the Silver In My Mothers Mother's Hair Bishop D Dalton Iton then told of Mrs Nielson's Nielsen's long and eventful life and of his association with her The Singing Mothers then sang When They're Gone Well We'll Not Forget Them The closing prayer pray pray- er was given by Gordon Blackam Black- Black am a great-grandson great of Mrs Nielson The dedication of the grave giave was by a grandson Enos Nielson Pallbearers included Ross E.
