Show The CAP Youths Youth's Opportunity Delinquency continues to be a major major major ma ma- jor concern in our nation despite efforts by jy y individual citizens and groups to find finda a workable solution to the problems of many teen Too often blind searches have bogged down in trial and trial and and ended in a despairing What do they want The Civil Air Patrol now celebrating celebrating celebrating cele cele- brating its anniversary furnishes an answer This volunteer organization has never kown the youth problem CAP is now ending 15 years of service to the nation A point to note is that this service has been given continuously voluntarily voluntarily voluntarily vol vol- and with no profit motive in mind The members not only give unstintingly unstintingly of themselves and their time they actually pay dues for the privilege of serving their community and their nation CAPs CAP's major efforts today are devotee to working with our youth to helping young people to better adjust to the air age and showing those who Vho are interested the multitude of career opportunities in aviation and other technical fields CAPs CAP's membership includes many dedicated men and women who feel that our nations nation's destiny is largely dependent upon aviation and the young people who must man this industry These CAP senior members recognize that today's young oung people must have proper proper proper pro pro- per guidance if they are to lead our civilization civilization civilization civili civili- out of the dangers that beset us The need to enlarge our resources of scientific scientific and engineering manpower is real realand realand realand and immediate These resources ar art are much too thin for national security comfort Unfortunately in the minds of the public at large this need has not yet reached point of desperation This is la because u w ware are not at war nor do many hold are we close to it CAP has recognized that we cannot wait for war to provide the nation with qualified manpower The CAP youth program includes some boys and girls of high school age Among its more widely known facets are these the Air Force summer encampments encampments encampments encamp encamp- ments the annual international cadet ex exchange exchange exchange ex- ex change between the U. U S.
