Show Lions Offer Reward for Sharpshooter The Moab Moab Lions Club Monday night posted a 25 reward for the thc arrest of the sharpshooter who used the string of lights in front of the post office herfor here her for target practice some time during Christmas week Bill McDougald in making a report on the Lions Club Christmas Christmas Christmas Christ Christ- mas party reported that every bulb in the string of lights had hac been shot out either with an air ah rifle or r sling shot He also reported that during the thc annual Christmas party the club handed out 1200 sacks of candy and nuts in what was termed the thc biggest party In hi the clubs club's his his- tory The club also voted to finance the purchase ase of glasses for chil children children chil- chil dren in Moab needing them but whose parents are unable to tc purchase them Such cases are areto areto areto to be reported by the local opticians opticians op op- and the purchases will be made when authorized by the doctor The project is being handled by the sight conservation conserva conserve tion and blind committee The proposed rest area on the north approach to the city on Highway was discussed then returned to committee for more study after it was learned the county proposes such a rest area in the new city park at the old rodeo grounds The club also voted leave to the board of directors any donations to be given to any cause and any member seeking such a donaton donator should turn his r request quest over to this body A film on the scenic splendor or of the area was shown by Dennis Pete Byrd of Byrd Aviation who filmed the show from the theair theair theair air starting just southwest ol or orthe the airport and extending to the confluence of the San Juan anc and Colorado Rivers over rugged country of fantastic rock formations formations forma and ancient Indian ruins Among the guests was Jake Evans of Price a representative of Lions International |
