authority authority author- author ity ty of the I am not an anId anold anold old Id timer here I am a newcomer I I am not a legal citizen nor a voice from the most inner-most circle of f the town I am a temporary resident As such may I add my reactions to this interesting interlude interlude in- in of my experience life experience life in Moab I have been enjoying living inthis in inthis this community and I have been sharing haring in a small wa way something something some- some thing sing of its interests its hopes and nd its activities Hurried visits to this town as aswell aswell aswell well as to others often do not reveal the true picture of a place the he reality of life there nor the I spirit of the people The article In n question seems to set forth Impressions gathered too much I from seeming appearances This word portrait of Moab is not as asI asI I I saw it when I came here and ItIs it itis its Is s not the picture of the town asI as asI assee I see it now It is often advisable if one can before telling a story to stay around round for awhile to be able to read ead from between the lines and ando to o look beneath the street picture To do so here is to learn of the gentilities of the neighborliness of f the friendly acts of the people here lere in your own interest and to begin to feel the heart of Moab The world has moved in on this place of that there is no doubt and with the tripling and quadrupling of p population the town own leaders and town councils have been pressed for incredible expansion in every department They are to be commended for the effort they have made and are making to absorb and to accommodate accommodate accommodate that part of the world that has las rushed in to the little valley valleytown valleytown town own by the cliffs of the Colorado Colora- Colora do lo river People have come not only from most of our states Inthe in inthe the he Union but from Alaska Panama Pan ama Hawaii and also from Canada Canada Canada Can Can- ada Peru Nicaragua and England as well as from many other countries countries coun- coun tries ries of the world Many of these have lave offices and temporary resIdences residences residences resi resI- dences here All of us have meant headaches s for or the townsfolk and their officials officials of but the tho leaders have given give n 0 much time In a constant effort t tomake to make living here more comfort comfortable comfortable able and more in line with recognized of civilized ex It has been said You better keep up with the march o ol oj progress or it will tromp you t tc death This challen challenge e Moab has been busy trying to meet and it has taken many measures to al alleviate alleviate alleviate al- al its growing pains If It you will look in a jewelers jeweler's
