Show Girl Scouts Have Leader Training Sessions Here Mrs Mitchell leader of Girl Scout troop number 1 and chairman of the Moab Girl Scout Committee conducted a two-day two training course for leaders on June 22 and 23 at Bethany Hall HaU I She was assisted by Mrs Irvin Anderson of the Girl GIrt Scout Regional Re gional Committee of Salt Lake City r The educational sessions were P Preceded ceded by a social evening Tuesday June 21 at the home of Mrs to meet Mrs Anderson Anderon Ander Ander- son on and discuss some of the outstanding out standing needs It was decided to have a general committee for the scouts for handling problems common to all the groups Mrs Lester Taylor was appointed temy temporary tern tem chairman to form the permanent per I manent committee In the fall The following two days were spent In hi instruction of program planning song and game teaching proper use of the flag the flag ceremony and scout ceremonies I Filmstrips were used illustrating the psychology of conducting groups of young g girls gitl and the uses of various committees Discussion periods brought out many problems problems lems suggested solutions and the need for more leaders to care for forthe forthe forthe the incoming Brownies this fall On Ort completion of the course the following were awarded Girl Scout pins Mesdames W. W H. H Belangie William Buchanan G. G U. U Foote I George Bittle William Hayes Ella EllaMae EllaMae EllaMae Mae Hubbard Ardeth i Jensen and Marlon Marion Levering Mrs Lillian Boulden was given givena a pin as a 11 committee member Mesdames E. E G G. Mayhew and Helen Taylor also attended some of the sessions |
