Show LITERARY CLUB GIVES CHRISTMAS PROGRAM I The Women's Literary club enjoyed an an- inspiring Christmas program Saturday afternoon After a brief business meeting Mrs Sid Pace president Introduced introduced introduced intro intro- Mrs Junior Meador chairman of the afternoons afternoon's program Mrs Meador read A Christmas Wish by Henry Van Dyke This was followed by two songs by Nell Neil Stocks He UHe Shall Feed His Flock and Joy to the World both from Handel's Handels Handels Handel's Handels Handel's Han Han- I dels del's Messiah iJ He was accompanied accompanied by Miss Patricia Mahan Next Mrs Meador read a poem entitled Christmas Days of Long Ago Mrs Joe Redd of La Sal told the Story of the Other Wise Man The story concerned the fourth wise man who in ministering ministering min mm- to a wanderer in the wilderness as he hurried to seek 1 the King missed the caravan of the other three wise men then spent the rest of his life trying to find Him who was born King The story as told by Mrs Redd was unforgettable table and left a feeling of hope ope and peace in the hearts of the listeners Mrs C. C J. J Meador and Mrs Mr J. J Reed Larsen sang Star o ot of the he East and Christmas Bells accompanied by Mrs Clarence Holyoak A trio composed of Mrs Mitchell Mrs L L. L. L Taylor and Mrs Dan sha sang A Christmas Lullaby Lullaby Lulla Lulla- Lullaby by accompanied by Miss Tanny Tanny Tan Tan- ny fly Tea was served to 38 members mem- mem bers ers and four guests Decora- Decora ions carried out the Christmas theme heme with masses of spruce bows and holly red candles and plants Each lady was presented resented with a holly hoUy corsage The next meeting will be heldon held heldon on Jan 8 at 2 pm p.m. with Mrs LeRoy Smith in charge |
