E Baldwin 69 passed away at atthe atthe the tho Grand county hospital as the result of a n heart atack He lie had hod been ben ill only onty a n few hours Mr Baldwin an nn Inveterate sportsman had hind gone on a n fishing fish ing trip to Scofield lake hake Sun day He ne complained of feeling ill til Monday morning and was taken to the hospital death coming within a n few hours Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm p.m. at the LOS chapel with Rev F. F L. L Dawson Daw Daw- son of the Baptist church pre siding Prelude music was played play ed b by Mrs Arthur J. J Gilmore and Rev Dawson Da read rend the Psalm The hymn Docs Does Jesus Care was sung by Mrs Marvin Mar yin vin Clever Clover Mrs L. L L. L Taylor E. E W. W Stout and G. G U. U Foote Mrs Ola Walker accompany ing Prayer was offered by Bishop W. W R. R McConkle McConkie Rev Dawson delivered the sermon speaking along spiritual lines The mixed quartet sang Abide With Me Following the service Orient Lodge No 15 F. F I AM A.M. J L. L and Lottie Jane Olney Baldwin He lie is survived sur sw by his wife Lillian Goodman Good man Baldwin two dau daughters Mrs Betty Detty Jo So Hayes and Mrs Mary Jane Moab one son Don C. C Baldwin Salt Lake City two brothers Howard Baldwin Newcastle Ind md and Virgil Baldwin Green River one sister Mrs Mary Vaughn Indianapolis Ind md and four grandchildren Mr Baldwin came west vest from Newcastle Ind md when a young man and for several years was engaged In the construction business About th the year 1914 he ho came to Moab and became associated with his brother the late hate Dennis E. E Baldwin in the garage and stage line business bust busi ness at Moab In 1917 the bro bro- In association with R. R C. C C.- C. Clark R U. J. J Fletcher and Don Don- Taylor organized the Moab Moat Garage Co CoO pioneer garage and transportation concern of south eastern Utah Mr Baldwin remained iden titled with the tho management of ot the Moab Garage Co until his death He tie managed the Thomp sons branch of the company and also had charge charae of the Continental OH Oil Co distributing plant at Thompsons and Green River Mr Baldwin married Miss Lillian Goodman of Moab in 1917 and they have made their home here continuously Mr Baldwin although naturally of ofa ofia ia a retiring nature was one of ot ithe the county's most progressive land and active citizens He lie was al always al ways Iwas a supporter of projects to Improve this part of the state and was counted as one of ot the stalwarts of southeastern Utah Through his business he came into contact with large num bers of people and he was universally uni admired and respected by all alt who knew him It pro bably can truthfully be said that he did not have an enem enemy In the world The death of C. C E. E Baldwin is a severe blow literally to hundreds of ot people |
