Show N DEATH SUMMONS PIONEER WOMAN ams D II 11 DALTON 79 DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS A RESIDENT OP SOUTHEAST UTAH 50 YEARS mrs harriet H dalton aged 79 wife of daniel H dalton died monday evening following a protracted illness mrs dalton had been in poor health for the past year or more anda tor weeks past had teen bedfast A complication of ailments was the cause of death she was a pioneer of southeastern atah having lived in grand and san juan counties tor around 50 years the family have made their home at moab for about 25 years funeral services were held this afternoon from the L D S chapel with Blaho pW D hammond presiding A large congregation of sorrowing friends and numerous floral offerings attested the esteem in which she was held the opening prayer was given by bynun alien and the benediction was offered by george A newell the speakers were C L christensen and W R mcconkle A vocal duet oh my tather was rendered by mrs mary gordon and miss helen gordon and the choir sang though deepening trials resting now from care and sorrow and sweet rest in heaven mrs dalton was bom sept 25 1852 in mul creek ward salt lake city the daughter of ira and rebecca huntsman early utah pioneers she was twice married her first husband being john bankhead on dec 15 1874 she married daniel H dalton who survives her mrs dalton was the mother of 16 children nine of whom are living they are joseph bankhead moab henry D dalton cedaredge Ceda redge colo theodore dalton spanish fork mrs ida wade long beach calif earl dalton mrs deula stocks bert dalton and mrs hattle shumway all of moab eighty three grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive her mrs dalton was one of most highly respected mothers and her death brings sadness to the hearts of hundreds of friends |
