Show HANGE management WILL BE STUDIED ogden utah the fourth biennial field days to which wool growers cattle men and others interested in range problems are invited will be held at the great basin experiment station of the forest service near ephraem Ephr alm uan on august 16 and 17 according to an announcement by 0 L forsling director of the research work of the forest service in the in region the extension division of the utah agricultural college of which prof william peterson Is director will cooperate with the forest service in this meeting the range research it Is pointed out Is the foundation of the range livestock industry in the west and better forage production Is one of the important problems with which the industry has to deal the object of the two day meeting at the great basin station Is to afford those interested in range livestock production and range problems an opportunity to see the results of experimental work in range management to improve the native forage crop in artificial range re seeding and in erosion and stream flow being conducted at the experiment station the great basin experiment peri ment station was established in 1912 for the purpose of giving range users the aid of science in developing more efficient methods in the care and use of the range previous field days were held in 1924 1925 and 1927 each of these has been well attended by representatives of the eleven western range states it is anticipated the 1929 meeting will have a larger attendance than any preceding meeting |
