| Show the slippery mud of klondike ridge which has long been the bugaboo of motorists in wet weather will soon be a thing of the past at least so far as the moab thompsons highway Is concerned on monday the graveling of the nine mile stretch of road from valley city to the south klondike bridge started and it Is expected that within six weeks the job will be completed J M of is the contractor he has a large gravel crusher in operation and Is operating three dump trucks already close to half a mile of highway has been surfaced A very good grade of gravel Is being used and the road Is being covered with the material to a depth of four inches which it Is expected will last for perhaps eight or ten years H G green cashier of the first national bank returned wednesday from salt lake city where he had been for several weeks receiving surgical attention mr green Is steadily recovering from a serious operation which he underwent while in salt lake and hopes to be back at his desk in the bank within a few weeks mr and mrs tom taylor returned monday from a trip to salt lake city where they were called by the illness of mrs sister mrs blanche mrs mellenthin Is improving slowly and Is believed to be out of danger on their return to moab mr and mrs taylor were accompanied compa nied by the former s sister mrs mrs melvln mcbeth and two children of payson who will visit relatives here tor a week or two george day son of mr and mrs herbert S day of moab was an arrival the first of the week or a with his parents and other relatives at moab and la sal mr day for beveral years has been a radio operator in the U B naval service he left his ship at seattle and wui report back for duty on august 8 he recently returned from an extended detail to alaska and other northern points mr day left yesterday for a short visit at la sal |
