Show monticello BANKER AND MAN commissioner OF SAN JUAN COUNTY SUCCUMBS AT SALT LAKE CITY L hardy redd jr 45 banker and business man died at noon monday at a salt lake hospital following an operation although his condition was known to be serious strong hope or his recovery was held out by his family and friends and death came as a severe shock to his intimate associates the body was taken to monticello for burial passing through moab about tuesday funeral services will be held at monticello today and will be attended by hundreds of friends from over grand and san juan counties several friends from moab will leave for monticello today to attend the services lemuel hardison radd was the eldest son of the late L H redd president of san juan stake and ellza ann westover hedd and was born january 15 1883 at bluff he had been educated in the public schools of bluff and later studied at brigham young university early in life mr redd rode the range as manager of large cattle interests and was thus introduced to the rigors of frontier life he also served on a mission for the L D E church upon the death of his father in 1920 mr redd took charge of his extensive interests managing them so success fully that he won the esteem of all persons with whom ho came in contact his judgment and tact were regarded so highly by residents of san juan county that it was to him they came to settle controversies and to seek advice among the civic positions held by mr redd were mayor of monticello president of the san juan fair association and president of the monticello commercial club at the time of his death he was chairman of the board of san juan county commissioners cashier of the state bank of san juan president of the L H redd company president of the la sal livestock company and director of the grayson cooperative company he also was state commet teeman for the republican party he Is survived by his mother who resides at salt lake city his widow lovana michelson Ml chelson redd four sons daryle elmo daniel william and howard redd and six daughters maude bessie dorothy virginia frances and barbara redd all of mantl cello ten brothers and sisters also survive mrs hattie barton and anna redd blanding herbert H redd marion redd mrs carrie and mrs amle snow salt lake mrs edith lewis san francisco calif charles redd la sal and L frank and A J redd monticello |
