Show newspapers FOR THEIR GOOD polut the value of the newspapers of the state was recognized and appreciated by the executive committee of the utah public health association at a meeting held wednesday presided over by dr john A widtsoe the following resolution introduced by mayor 0 K hansen of provo and seconded by mrs levi edgar young was unanimously adopted resolved that the thanks and ap of the utah public health association are hereby extended ti the newspapers of the state of utah for the valuable and generous co op oration given in the recent christmas seal sale and for the good will and helpful attitude they have displayed on every occasion when they have been caged upon to aid in the pro lection of the public health by the dissemination of necessary informs tion the meeting was by dr john A widtsoe soe miss kate williams mrs clarissa S williams dr 0 K hansen alex hedquist edward li snow mrs levi edgar young an james H walks arthur J of new york city field secretary of the national tuberculosis association was pre dented nd discussed the future a tivi ties of the association submitting a tentative program this matter was referred to a special committee consisting of dr john A widtsoe soe dr H G merall dr C N jensen miss kate wil liams mrs levi edgar young ohp committee will meet on february i to make up their report mr wallis made a statement cr the recent sale of christmas seals which he said was very inasmuch Inc as all parts of the stale had not reported be said it would be impossible to make a complete estimate until the next meeting of committee fhe audit made by lincoln G kel ley co certified public accountants of the funds and expenditures of the association for the past two years was submitted to the meeting ano which showed the records to be in good condition and without error dr widtsoe soe in a brief talk to the committee stated the work of the association should go on even though its funds would be limited this yei the most disastrous fire in the history of moab utah occurred de cember 26 completely destroy ing the home of la sal camp no 08 goodmen woodmen of the world this building was constructed in 1896 and had been the center of the commom ty life there for thirty years to nearly every person in and near moab the loss was personal for most of them had grown to manhood and womanhood there and the goodmen woodmen hall held tender memories of many happy hours of the past the camps loss was heavy as the building was only partially covered by insurance the admirable spirit and of the neighbors of la sal camp have already found expression in the announcement that a new and better goodmen woodmen building will soon rise upon the ruins of the old one pacific jaci fic woodman denver abi i ellen the young daughter of mrs sarah mcconkie sustained a severe fracture arf her wrist tuesday she fell down the basement steps of the L D S church the fracture waa reduced by dr alien and the injure is satisfactorily V P martin returned to his home at los angeles the first of the week after spending several beeks at mo ab on business |
