Show FATHER OF MOAB WOMEN buniea AT DOLORES COLO the following fol loving obituary covering the death of john H brumley of Mort hdale colo father of mrs H C goodman and mrs H G green of moab appeared in the dove creek inland empire of last week john H brumley of northdale Nort hdale one of the pioneers of the san juan basin died at cortez tuesday night he was born in tennessee march 80 1845 and went with his family to texas in 1845 he served four years in the confederate army in 1866 he was united in marriage to elvira johnson and five children were born all living amri lulu of moab utah mrs annie green of moab mrs jessie hosea of santa anna california J M brumley of cortez county judge and W H brumley ot los angeles california in 1879 mr brumley moved to cimarron N M and in 1883 to dolores where artons other activities he was interested in starting the first school in that town he as also town marshal of durango in 1887 end 1888 his wife died and he married mrs mary shutt for the past eight years he has lived at northdale Nort hdale he was a member of the baptist church tend a man of high moral and physical courage and of fixed and outspoken opinions he was prominent in all movements for the welfare of the communities in which ha lived the funeral was held at dolores yesterday afternoon |
