Show BRAND inspection LAW IN EFFECT JULY J M mcfarland chief state brand inspector states that grazing per on national forests as well as other stockmen stoc kmen should be familiar with the state brand inspection law and the regulations of the state board of agriculture pertaining thereto all cattle shipped over railroads or to be slaughtered must have a bill of sale or 01 certificate of ownership slaughter houses and railroads are required to keep a record of all animals received the 90 brand inspectors throughout the state will not receive any cattle without a certificate of ownership or a bill of sale the new regulation is intended to force an accounting of ownership for nil cattle slaughtered or shipped and will go into effect about july 1 no meat peddler will be allowed to take anything but veal labib and hogs to cities like salt lake and ogden and these must have a certificate of ownership or a bill of sale bills of sale will be placed in the hands of county clerks stock associations brand inspectors and rangers for the convenience of cattlemen mr mcfarland is now holding a series of meetings in the northern part of the state to familiarize cattlemen with the brand inspection rules instituted by the state board of agriculture the rest of the state will be reached later |
