Show cg FAI of SHOW THEM 9 sa s1 agh another snowstorm was had throughout southeastern utah the first of the week and the subsequent cold weather has kept the snow on the ground with the result that in moab there has been a it depth of about three inches all week affording the first sleighing for several years the snow was general throughout this entire region at monticello there is now a depth of about twenty inches and at la sal a it foot the prospects for a favorable spring on the farms has been materially the snow has also greatly improved the winter ranges although though af the cold weather this week is somewhat severe on stocky at moab the coldest weather so far experienced has been two above zero and flie the thermometer has been registering minimums of from two to ten above for the past week it is now declared unlikely that zero weather will be had here the stage and truck service from moab to monticello has been handicapped during the week on account of the heavy drifting of snow between peteer hill and monticello it was necessary to use sleighs several days for forwarding passengers and malt mail from the foot of the hill to monticello a distance of about ten miles this necessarily delayed the cars several hours although mail and passengers have been taken through to destination each day the stage cars are tire now going on to monticello on their own power sleighs are being used to transport mail and passengers from monticello and blanding |
