Show DETAILS OF COLO KILLING GIVEN the detail details of the killing at ack men or sandstone colo last week brief mention of which wa was made in the last issue of the times ent are given ai as follow follows by the man cos times tribune A shooting affray took place at acklen in this county last list sunday ai as a result of which alfred hadley was killed and his slayer J P F finch cr er lies incarcerated in the county bounty jail the shooting occurred between one and two and immediately after the shooting fincher went to a nearby ranch house and telephoned to sheriff to come and get him hadley lived about two hours and died de declaring clarin his innocence of any iny wrong toward fincher fincher has done no talking and merely ro quested the sheriff to help him find his daughter a girl of sixteen stating that she was the cause of the trouble it appear appears that the young girl had left home borne a week previous and fincher had been told that thit hadley had something to do with her dissat bearance pe arance an and information reaching here indicates that there had been a lot of gossip and irresponsible talk it has been learned later that the girl had stayed at the peele home near dolores and was working in a restaurant when the trouble occurred it is reported that the men had had no quarrel and apparently fincher became enraged by neighborhood talk concealed himself in an outhouse at acklen and from the door hot shot had ley as he was passing by this is only a report but seems to bo be some thing near the facts fincher ii Is a men of fifty or near that has a wife and a large family of children told the sheriff he was from texas was rather a stranger in the country and came to the dry farming country somewhat less than a year ago he ire was armed aimed with a revolver and an automatic pistol when taken into custody hadley adley ll wa was a well known citizen of acklen was 28 years of age and leaves a wife and two children it is a very regrettable reg retable affair but like unto other incidents that often occur in new communities where the conditions of life are hard bird and ill feelings and strife seem naturally to grow out of the condit conditions ione |
