| Show FOREST EEK OBSERVED N 1111 1 PRO PROGRAM GRAll in observance of forest protection week eek opened monday and ends may 4 a program wa was rendered yes ye berday by the eiph school and camp fire girls at the auditorium the program included a number of musi c cat al selections and readings supervisor v 0 A olsen delivered an ad dress in which he pointed out the imperative pera tive need of protecting our forest resources at the conclusion jot of the program a western estem yellow pine tree was planted in the court house gf grounds being dedicated by mayor H S rutledge supervisor olsen in his address announced the results of a limerick contest which had been conducted in the schools of grand and san juan counties by the local forest office the winning limerick was anten by loren rober robertson ason who was awarded a prize of 5 the second prize of 3 was awarded to mary bayles of Blan blanding dirig while the third prize 2 went to clara myers of moab the nw wining limericks were sent to the district forest office at ogden to be judged in a contest of the Inter moun tain district being conducted by the ogden office prizes of 10 5 and 2 60 are offered by the district of protection protection fice ce the limericks relate to forest |
