Show Age ge No ITo Bar to The Pleasures Of Cycling Age cannot wither nor custom stale stalo the popularity of ot the good old bicycle amongst the very large number of veteran cyclists who still retain their love for the pastime To them the bicycle Is not merely a useful means of getting about on errands of business etc but is a real health giving recreation which gives them pleasure and recreation for many years Let those who look upon the bicycle as merely a vehicle of sport for the youngster r or suitable only for utility purposes take note of the following Instances of Its use through a long period of ot years by men who have reached and passed the allotted threescore threescore threescore three three- score and ten years ears At a recent meet of the Irish Cyclists Cyclists Cyclists Cy Cy- Cy- Cy Old Timers Fellowship the most prominent figure in the assembly was John B. B Dunlop the inventor of the pneumatic tire who appeared mounted on the very bicycle to which the first pneumatic tires were fitted the front tire being one of the original tires made In 1889 Mr Dunlop is 76 years I of ot age Is hale and hearty and still able I to pedal his bike with ease Another j I veteran rider was 86 but still takes his dally daily spin on his two wheeler There Thero were a number of ot other active I veterans present who had reached a aI aripe aripe I ripe age and all of these men frequently frequently frequently fre fre- participate In reunion runs nuns There are a great many old riders such as the above In all parts of Britain Britain Brit Brit- am ain and Ireland as Instanced by the following items which appeared in the Irish Cyclist recently E.
