Show HOLY ROSARY CHURCH Local Catholic Ladies Attend Salt Lake Meet Nine members of the B. C. O. Auxiliary and four members of the Copperton Ladies Society, organizations of Bingham Catholic Cath-olic church, went to Salt Lake City Wednesday to participate in the convention of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. The convention convened at 10 o'clock with mass in the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Following mass, those attending the convention went to Newhouse hotel for re- glstration and to join in the different dif-ferent sessions dealing with problems pro-blems and policies of the council. At one o'clock luncheon was served ser-ved to over 250 ladies. Featured speaker at the luncheon was Miss Margaret Mealey, executive secretary sec-retary of the National Council of Catholic Women, who discussed a plan for organizing the diocesan dioces-an council into parish and dean-cry dean-cry councils. She also reported on her visit to the international council meeting in Fribourg, Switzerland and her subsequent audience with Pope Pius XII. She reported that the national council now has over 6,000 affiliated affil-iated Catholic women's organizations organi-zations in the United States with a total membership in excess of 6,000,000. Those attending the convention conven-tion were Mrs. Hildo Ugarte, Mrs. John Pantalone, Mrs. Sam Lovat, Mrs. Paul Groves, Mrs. Peter Padgen, Mrs. Louis J. Arritola, Ar-ritola, Mrs. Hugo Bianchi, Mrs. Frank Guarascio, Mrs. Steve Amicone of Bingham and Mrs. John Anderson, Mrs. Albeit Kas-telic, Kas-telic, Mrs. William Ablett and Mrs. Victor Bonocini of Copper-ton. Copper-ton. Accompanying them were Fathers Thomas Navien and Ignatius Ig-natius Strancar of the Holy Rosary Ros-ary church. |
