Show BASEBALL PLAYGROUND by Bailey J. Santistevan, Area Director We have a total of thirteen teams playing their baseball schedule daily at the boys' playground play-ground at Copperton. Caps and shirts have been ordered or-dered for nine of the baseball teams. They will be paid for by the Activity Fund of Bingham Canyon and we want to take this opportunity of thanking the community com-munity of Bingham for this. The other four teams are sponsored by Lendaris Merc, Elva Ruth Shoppe and the two teams from Copperfield are sponsored by the Salt Lake county sheriff's department. de-partment. We want to thank the Bingham sheriffs and Mr. Beck-stead, Beck-stead, head of the county sheriffs group for this gesture. The Lark group spent this week end at the Spruces and presented the program Thursday night under un-der the supervision of Mrs. J. A. Coffey, head of the Lark program. pro-gram. The Bingham Bo-Sox, lead by George Apostal, are playing great ball in the Senior league. Dick Roblez, Clare Rager, Don Mat-tson, Mat-tson, Chris Katis and Pete Fur-gis Fur-gis are aiding the cause by theTr great play. The Bat Shiners have Louis Sarrao, Mike Johnson, Tony Menna, Frank Zdunich, Tommy James and Norman Bianchi, playing on their team. All of these boys are hard hitters and good fielders. They are a tough club to beat. The Golden Stars, led by Bob Osoro, their manager, are off to a driving start in their league. Fred Pando, John Deakin, Frankie Frank-ie Montoya and Benny Osoro are the leading players of this group. The Golden Eagles, one of the younger clubs in the league, are setting the pace in their league. Tommy Colyar, Maurice Colyar, Tommy Watson and Russell Jackson are the mainstays of this club. The Copperton Midgets, led by hard hitting Roy Hatch, have a great ball club in the Popsicle league. Bobby Davis, John Lancaster, Lan-caster, Keith LaComb and Harold Har-old Jenkins are going to be the club to beat in this league. The Copperton Seniors, have Marion Cowdell, Gary LaComb, David Peterson, Eddie Muhar, John Mitchell and Dick Houghton, Hough-ton, hitting the ball to all corners of the lot and are giving the other oth-er clubs plenty of trouble in the Senior league. Leslie Nichols is the reason why the Copperton Panthers are out in front in the Junior league. Helping this club along is Jerry Crellin, Jimmy Wilson, Edward and David Jacobsen and Larry Sax. The Bingham Giants are packing pack-ing plenty of power at the plate. The hitting of Lynn and Dennis Miller, Jan Freeman, Larry Mantle Man-tle Gary Hackinson, Bill English and Harry Pappasideris is keeping keep-ing this club way out in front in this league. The Copperton Hawks, led by Kent Allsop, are having a little trouble winning games. The play- ers on this team are small, but they have a lot of desire. Kenny Davis, George Markovich, Richard Rich-ard McMullin, Bill Fike and Geo. Rekoutis are all playing to win. The Copperfield Eagles have the following players on their team and are a tough club to beat. Rudy Gonzalez, Neal Thayer, Thay-er, Jimmy Manos, Paul Moyeda, David Leyba, Marvin Cowdell, Wayne Adachi, Robert Jaterka, Robert McCormick, Ricardo Lopez, Lo-pez, Gilbert Leyba and Joe Kenny. Ken-ny. Mike Gonzalez, Dick Kubota, Joe Castillo, Danny Jaterka, Nick Golish, Boyd Whetsel, Larry Lar-ry Hatt, Russell Miya are all hard hitters and good fielders fos the Copperfield Deputies. One of the good ball clubs on the playground is the Lendaris Merc. Juan Sanchez, Jack Taylor, Tay-lor, Harold Sparks, and Clifford Nielsen are hitting the ball hard and doing a great job fielding and all around playing. The little Elva Ruth Shoppe team is on the playground daily and winning their share of games. gam-es.
