M White at 24 4 South State Ho He was arrested on the charge of grand larceny In excellent English and apparently ap ap- with quite a knowledge of the tho law McShane defended himself himself him him- self Belt and proved so conclusively to tho the Judge that It was petty larceny not grand larceny that tho the magistrate sentenced him to but thirty days in Jail jan He admitted he once had taught j I school but that he long since had joined the down and anti out army
