At Bngham City, the locals dropped drop-ped another close one 6 to 4 as Poulsen and McConnell hooked up in a pitchers battle. Baseball Venture Successful Despite many handicaps, the initial venture of the young Bingham baseball squad into the fast Utah Industrial loop proved to be a success in more ways than one. The players, although not winning many games, gained valuable val-uable experience for the future, and showed a fine spirit all thru the season. Next season these youngsters will make a good account ac-count of themselves and have proven a credit to thel eague, their fans and the entire community. com-munity. Along with the boys and Manager Zaccaria, the fans and members of our organization can be proud of the splendid support and backing they have given our local youngsters and the goal toward to-ward which we are all working. We wish to again thank everyone every-one who has helped make possible possi-ble this fine entertainment and good sport. We hope to keep on improving the wonderful facilities facili-ties and parks that have been made available to us, and to us, and to make use of these worthwhile recreation benefits for all who can take part and enjoy them. SOFTBALL SLANTS The crack A & M Softball rune, 1948 champions of the BDAA Softball league, turned in a repeat re-peat performance this season by winning both halves against a lot of tough competition. Fourth round of play will be Tuesday, September 6, with the four remaining teams battling in the semi-finals. First game will begin at 7 p.m. and the second one at 8. These games have drawn some verv nice crowds, and we hope to have improved facilities for the fans in the softball line next season. Plans are already being drawn up for installation of bleachers and this popular sport must come in for a great deal of active development. The Majors will roll at the Ritz and Temple lanes this season and the locals are going after the coveted cov-eted crown in earnest.
