A A. is transplanting Americas America's great universities directly behind the fighting lightIng light fight Ing front in Europe In order that our millions of boys may come back from the war equipped to direct this nations nation's affairs of tomorrow We feel it peculiarly fitting that this vital ital part of the Y M M. C C. As A.'s work overseas be given publicity just now I as we approach the campaign for our new overseas war work fund of I because it touches rock rock- bottom on one of the many gigantic problems this country has to face when peace Is 15 here When you remember that these legions of boys over there will come comeback comeback comeback back to be our councilmen our senators senators senators sena sena- tors congressmen diplomats and business business business busi busi- ness and professional leaders in later years you glimpse the reason for this great educational undertaking WORK UNDER WAY The work is already under way It has lias a present as well as a a future ac accomplishment accomplishment ac- ac to effect Its big task now Is to teach every boy with a gun exactly what he is fighting for No Na Noman Naman Noman man can do things well if he does not liOt clearly understand the reasons for doIng doIng doing do do- ing them Putting the war Issue clearly clear clear- ly before these boys through these universities behind the the- front strengthens strength strength- ens and improves the morale of AmerIcas AmerIca's America Amer Amer- ica ions ion's s armies as nothing else could The second and equally important ob object ob- ob je jeet t Is to train traia these boys even as they fight for peace time affairs To do this we have conscripted the best minds available In American uni universities uni- uni The schools already established and being established in Y M M.
