J R. R Smith principal of the school and Miss Ellen Crooks teacher-director teacher of the schools school's patrol The girls headed by a sergeant will alternate in carrying out the duties of the patrol with 12 boys who also took the oath at the school assembly Mr Smith who spoke at the gathering commended the girls for their interest in school patrol work Miss Crooks and Captain Sherman Falkenrath head of the police traffic division also spoke Police Lieutenant Golden Haight in charge of school safety patrols throughout the city administered the oath to the girls and the 12 boys entering the patrol corps Lieutenant Haight said it is unlikely unlikely unlikely un un- likely that other schools of the city will follow the program of adding adding adding add add- ing girls to their school patrols this year However if the girls at the Longfellow school prove to be a success girls probably will be added to the corps at other schools next year Lieutenant Haight said Get GeI In the Fight Buy War Bonds Bondt- |
