W Nibley re returned ra- ra re-P re turned today from an extended trip to the Sandwich islands which they began be began be be- gan Jan February 20 The trip was mainly to look after th the plans for the erection of the Mormon temple teme at Late Lale Oahu The ground round is already broken and work Is progressing j W did not lay th the corner corner stone of the temple Bishop Nibley said Our trip was to encourage the temple builders a and aid d to investigate conditions In the Islands There are many More Mor- Mor e mop mon converts In the islands and It was thought to be a a. great benefit to the natives to bring the privileges of I church members at home In Salt Lake CIty Into then theirs own homes Our party had a very enjoyable time and we stopped off oft at many of the dl diate t points to visit with church mem mem- b bers bera rs and missionaries in the field Pr President Smith was one of the first missionaries to preach the M l Mormon rm n fajth th to natives s of the Sandwich Islands There are many of the natives na na- na tives still living Jiving In parts of the Islands whom he knew While at the mission headquarters at Lale Laie Oahu President Smith Bishop Nibley and their wives were the guests of Samuel E.
