J Edward Thompson 16 16 a Western I l on messenger boy w was s injured seriously shortly after 10 o'clock this morning ing when a bicycle he was was riding w was ws was s struck by an automobile driven b by Fred Matthews Matthes a public chauffeur The accident occurred lat at Fourth South and Third West streets The auto automobile belongs belongs to to the Ut Utah h Taxicab company and was used by bythe bythe bythe the Morris campaign workers to carr carry voters to the polls The Thompson lad was riding south on Third West street As he neared the Intersection of pr- Fourth South Sonth and Third West streets street a dog ran gan ran into the he street and snapped at his legs The automobile was being driven west on Fourth South street and in his efforts avoid the dog the Thompson lad ran I his bicycle directly into the automo automo- bile A A. C. C Fox a Morris worker was a 1 passenger in in the automobile Aided by Matthews he placed the boy In the automobile and rushed him to the palice police po po- lice emergency hospital There Dr H. H B. B Sprague dressed his w wounds An examination showed that he had re received received received re- re several serious scalp injuries After dressing dressin the boys boy's injuries Dr Sprague ordered him taken to his home at Ninth East street |
