Preps Polish Hoop Attack Bingham's prep basketball aggregation ag-gregation is slowly rounding into in-to form as the locals make ready for the regular season opener at Cyprus, January 7. In several pre-season games, the Bingham squad has shown steady improvement against some of the state's top fives and expect ex-pect to have a well balanced outfit, out-fit, comes the opening of league play. Play Park City Dec. 28ih . Bingham plays host to another miner five, Park City, in an afternoon af-ternoon doubleheader on December Decem-ber 28 at the Copperton gym at 3 and 4 p.m. The locals will be trying to avenge a close setback at the Park City court earlier in the season. ALLEY ANGLES BDAA Travelers Enjoy Tour of Temple Bowling Lanes Last week the BDAA keglers motored to Salt Lake for a regular regu-lar league skirmish against the Brunswick squad and were treated treat-ed to an evening of fine pin-splattering pin-splattering by their opponents. Starting on alleys 7 and 8, the locals were shown how to find the pocket in ten frames, but just as things seemed to become clear the teams moved to alleys 1 and 2, where the same lesson was observed. As the final game ended end-ed on alleys 3 and 4 the locals were fast learning the rudiments of the game, but were late with the least, a condition favoring a minus sign for defeat. Result four losses, a nice trip and some very fine ideas on just how to beat those guys this week. Gemmell Continues Drive At Southeast, the Gemmell pin busters continued their winning ways, with a 3 to 1 victory over Coon Chicken Inn. J. Abplanalp with 612 and Bill Ablett with 600 right on the nose, led the Gemmell club, in the classic race as the locals kept atop the heap with 34 wins and 22 losses. The Gemmell squad failed to place in team events in the annual an-nual City tourney last week at the Temple lanes, but the Bingham Bing-ham keglers will still try for honors in the doubles and singles events this week. Mullett-Kelly, current leaders of the Salt Lake Major league, went into first place in the tourney tour-ney team event with a 2900 series. |
