QUEER CONFESSION BY FORMER MAIL CLERK WASHINGTON Aug 31 An 31 An unsigned unsigned un- un signed and undated letter was vas received today by the postoffice department in which the writer confessed to a violation of or the law Jaw in opening a a sealed scaled letter Jetter The writer says More than five twenty years ago when employed as a n clerk In a postoffice I lone one day made out a mon money y order and after tho the letter was sealed and ready to b be mailed I remembered that I had not filled out the blank quite right and I opened the letter Jetter and made the proper a correction I sealed scaled the letter Jetter at once and forwarded it by first first- mall maH Although no harm was done I really broke the law and wish to confess my error Tho The postoffice authorities have no Idea from whom the letter Jetter came The communication com corn is unique In the history of the department It is evident to the officials that the error has been cn burning hurning in the mind of the writer of ot Jho ho he letter all aU these sars fl I Ia The penmanship appears to be that of ot t woman om but that is a mere surmise on the part of the officials No actionS action of course will be taken In regard to the
