theatregoers theatre goers of this city are re the most critical and yet most appreciative show pa pa- It ma discourage a new visitor to Salt Lake when he a good turn and the audience never makes a sound but not so with those who have been hero here before Salt Lake Audiences Know You have got to deliver er the goods goodsin I in in Salt Lake believe me The audiences audi audio audiences here never miss a thing that goes goeson on but they are s seldom moved to much enthusiasm I r have heard some performers performers per per- formers cuss because they didn't get a hand band when they deserved it when playing ng before a Salt Lake house But when that much sought for hand did materialize it was good and round and full and sounded as if it came right from tho the heart Not long Jong ago Mr was p performing performing per per- r- r forming in Hamburg Germany As he lie was passing along the street one day he noticed a queer looking little chap standing on the corner This little chap was just about three feet tall and didn didn't t we weigh gh more than fifty pounds The little man interested the performer so much that he be followed him bim to his home where they had a long talk which resulted in a lasting friendship Every day while Mr was in in Hamburg he lie called upon his little friends and finally secured the permiSsion sion of the boys boy's parents to take the little man to America with him The boy wanted to learn to be an acrobat so Mr commenced training him Charles that's the little giants giant's name developed such talent in the acrobatic line that his new mother decided to try him out on the stage Charles made a decided hit from the start and he has been a professional ever since his first first night Charles made his first appearance in Salt Lake at the Mission theatre last night when he was shot into the air from a foot five bottle Not so very ery long Ion ago he ho celebrated his seventeenth birthday birthday but he is still three feet tall taU talland talland and weighs just fifty pounds He just cant can't grow ow any larger Each morning he and Mother Pant Pant- zer sit down and study together The little man is is an ant pupil and besides much time with his lessons each day he finds several minutes minutes min utes in which to play on the mandolin |
