Freeman Bassett and H Ii O O. of ot Salt Lake Mayor Phil Bentz of ot Ogden and A A. M r. Sims of Ogden Og- Og den The Tine rules provide for a league of not less ess than four nor more than eight clubs A forfeit of 1000 as a guarantee by each Cacti club to play the schedule Is required by the rules Under these rules It is it probable that a team four league will be formed of the baseball clubs of Ogden Murray Salt Lake and either the Occidentals of ot Bing- Bing ham lam The report of the committee will wilt be bo submitted to a meeting meeting- of tho the representatives of the different clubs to be called soon At this meeting the organization organization organization will be perfected the clubs in the league named and the officers chosen The rules formulated by the committee follow Collow The Rules Bules 1 1 This league shall be Known as the Utah baseball league 2 2 This league shall consist t of not less than nor more than thain eight 8 S clubs 3 3 The officers of this l league ague shall ahall be bea a president vice president secretary and treasurer There shall small also be he a board of directors consisting of or the president of ot the tho league and one accredited representative of each club The president vice president secretary and treasurer shall be elected b bj by the tine directors The action of a representative of an any club shall be absolutely binding on the clubA club A majority of the representatives shall constitute a quorum 4 4 The Tine objects of ot this league are to promote baseball In Utah and to do any and all things proper for the promotion promotion- of the national game 5 5 No club shall refuse to play any scheduled or postponed game unless un unavoidable unavoidable un- un avoidable accident In traveling makes the playing of such game Impossible Any club failing falling or refusing to play a scheduled scheduled sched seIned tiled or postponed game unless such club is excused as herein tided provided pr shall thaU be fined one hundred dollars Suspension List 6 6 A suspension list will be kept by bythe bythe bythe the president of the names of any of the players violating their contracts with any club For Tor this or an any other cause players players play- play ers era may by the president be placed on ott such list and no player shall bo be permitted permitted per per- to play until his name Is removed remo by unanimous vote of all the clubs 7 7 Each baseball club shall have hae the power powei to name one member of the board of directors said member having ha the tine right to name an alternate The president prest- prest dent shall small preside at all aU meetings of th the board and his duties not specially men herein shall be those usually In Incumbent incumbent incumbent in- in upon such officer He lie shall also be the Judge of the eligibility of the players to play with witla certain clubs In case of dispute He will also interpret the tine playing rules Each club shall regulate its ts own affairs as to discipline of players and employees except as otherwise provided provided pro pro- vided for by the rules 8 8 No player while under contract with a club of ot this league 01 or under suspension suspension suspension sus sus- pension or expulsion shall enter sitter the service ser sei- vice of another club Umpires 9 9 Umpires shall be elected b bj by the president resident of the league loague and arid shall hall be entirely under his control The fhe board of directors shall be the tribunal to de determIne determine determine de- de termine disputes between the tue clubs except ex ex- copt as to eligibility of players and the umpire question 10 No club shall loan or exchange players during the championship season 11 n.
