Show DEATH O OF JUDGE MINER O One e. e by one the ol older er generation en ration is passing on The death of Judge Miner liner is a reminder He was in precarious health two or three years ago and his friends feared that he ha had started down the long slope but for a year he has has seemed much b better tier and the belief has been that yet for many years ears he would be a us useful ful citizen Judge Miner l has filled a conspicuous ous place in Utah He served long on the supreme bench of Utah and the whole record is covered with honor There never was a suspicion of favoritism never a thought that any sinister influence had shaded a decision He was a pronounced partisan off the bench on the bench he was simply the lawyer and the Judge His life as a citizen has been above suspicion his home and his life home-life have been an honor to the city He lie was very proud of Utah he wanted to see it a great American State he was I. I sanguine that the law of kindness would be all suf to heal any differences here but down deep he saw closely cosely c that until absolute obedience to righteous righteous righteous right right- law bec became me the rule there would always be contention here always a cloud upon Utah His information was very great great- his ideas on all questions local or national were singularly clear he was vas shrewd in business and his business prescience was far above the ordinary He was a model husband and father and the grief of the little family group is most profound That grief in ina in-a a little w way y the city shares share with the family and to the stricken ones a great measure of sympathy goes out They have what comfort comes In to knowing that the husband husban as husband father r citizen and supreme Judge walked without r reproach among m men men n that his life has been most valuable to Utah and that his his his' death is a great loss to the State |
