P Lightfoot of ot Texas will conclude today an investigation Into the affairs of ot the Waters-Pierce Waters Oil on com corn comp company p pany of Texas which has been going on before Commissioner Sanborn since Mon Mon- day The evidence Is for use In the suit brought to oust the company from Texas The proceedings before Commissioner Sanborn have been een secret It having been agreed between the attorneys that there should be no publicity When Whon Mr Lightfoot Light Light- Lightfoot foot toot first arrived it was believed that he would find It necessary to examine II H. H H. Rogers and John 1 l. Archbold of the Standard Oil company and Henry Clay Pierce of ot the Waters-Pierce Waters Oil OU company personally and It is stated it was In deference deference deference def def- def def- to the wishes of ot these men that Mr Lightfoot agreed that the public should be lIe excluded Since Monday however the attorneys for the oil company have made certain stipulations in which facts have been conceded and it has therefore become unnecessary to examine witnesses men men- The proceedings closely resemble those of ot last year against the same lame companies and others In which General Attorney-General Hadley of ot Missouri conducted the prosecution prose prose- cution The evidence taken at that time was available for Mr Lightfoots Lightfoot's purpose but the law of ot Texas required further evidence in search of ot which Mr Lightfoot Lightfoot Lightfoot Light- Light foot came to this city |
