Show UPWARD TURN IN WHEAT MARKET CHICAGO. July II. Because of weather conditions northwest tending to vpresd ruat, th wheat market today took an upward turn. Moreover, foreign crop conditions were reported ss less favorable than heretofore, and ocean freight rates hardening. It was alao said that a fair quantity of export business had developed. Opening prices were le off to c up. September Sep-tember started at I7 to 18c, unchanged to c hteher and held at the upper level. Light recelpta of corn made the market for that cereal strong. Ijocal speculators headed the buying. News of further ratna In Kanaaa appeared to hav little effect. September opened at S3 to 044c, the asms as laat night, 4oc advance, and roae to 04e. Oats declined on eccounf of covering hy shorts. An Idea prevailed that the recent re-cent decline had been excessive. September Septem-ber started c down to tc up at 421c to 421 arid rose to 43c. With offerings limited end hogs higher, provisions were firm. Initial sales varied from laat nlght'a figures to 71c higher, with Jsnuarv delivery I1.V4H to 115 47, for pork. 18.21 for lard and 11.071 for ribs Commission selling on the advance led to a decline In wheat.
