Show VERY PLEASANT EVENING ENJOYED A most sociable event took place at tho beautiful homo of Mr. and Mrs. V. W. Soutliworth, which was artistically artis-tically decorated for the occasion and .vus a function long to be remembered by the happy participants. It was the occasion of their son's birthday and only members of the Lincoln Club and Jfllcei-H of the Polosophlcal Society vero Invited. In one room was stationed a largo portrult of the old venerable character, charac-ter, Abraham Lincoln, very artistically Jecorated with a beautiful selection of different sized (lags, and on the walls In other sections of tho houso were found the picture of the same character charac-ter prominently displayed. The lloral decorations were made up chlctly of American Uenuty roses and jhrysaudiemums, and in a general way much lasto was displayed in decorative dec-orative arrangement of the home. Tables were net apait for card playing play-ing and the honors were carried off oy Mr. James Chlpman, Hrst prize, and Air. F. M. Drown, Bccond prize. Tho guests present were Mrs. P. tlenry, Mr. and Mrb. James Chlpman, Ir., Misses Ida and Amanda Chlpman, Edith Hlndloy, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hind-icy, Hind-icy, Miss lillza Hlndley, MlB3 Jene .lludloy', Mr. Arthur Hall of Pleasant Grove, Mr. and Mrs. William Chlpman. dr. and Mrs. William Thornton, Mr. md Mrs. John McTaguc, Mr. and Mrs. Mark liczzaut, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Orown, Mr. and Mrs. Kills Preston. After card playing a big tasty supper sup-per was served and tho balance of tho svcnlng was spent in general entertainment. enter-tainment. Mr. F. M. Drown drew the first prize for drawing tho best pic(urc of Abraham Abra-ham Lincoln. Tills was u very severely severe-ly fought content, but tho honors went to Mr, Drown. Defore the entertainment at tho Soutliworth home commenced the entire en-tire party wore tho happy recipient of an invitation (endcred (hem by the genial manager of (ho opera house, Mr. laningion, to sec one or the highest :lass pictures ever put on at the opera tiouue, for which they extended their cry sincere thanks to Mr. Harrington for his very considerate remembrance uid they surely appreciated his kindness. |
