Show 1H TIRED Of LIFE," IS EXPLANATION OF YOUTHFUL SUICIDE Young Man Only Nineteen Fires Shotgun Load Into Side. Laughing and joking all day long and after keeping hia fellow workmen in an uproar while working oa a new house being built by A. Mead in the vicinity of Ninth West and Second North atreets, Edward E. Howes, a youth of 19, went to hia home at 264 Chicago avenne and, tying a shotgun to the back of a chair and resting it on a washboard, used a long stick to discharge a load of buckshot into his right side, causiog a fatal wound. He died at Ht. Mark 'a hospital at II o'clock last night. The fatal shot waa fired shortlv after 7 o'clock last night. "God bless you all. Tired of Itfe. Ed." This short note alone explained the temporary despondency of the youth who committed suicide. Another note left, addreaaed to Miss Ellen ClufT, in care of the Sweet Candy company, was inspired by love. It is -aid that Howes had spoken to Mr. Mead, who f employed em-ployed him aa a mason tender, in a business wav concerning a honae. The auicide'a parents are dead. He had been staying alone in the honse of his brother-in-law, M. Beck, who is working at Tooele. He left a note asking that the news of the tragedy he telephoned to his sinter, Mrs. rt. u. Irvine, at Tooele. Both have been notified no-tified and have instructed Undertaker C. H. Banks of Murray to take the !.i.iv in charge. |
