Works for hi work in congress ou behalf of the single presidential term has been the cause already of much strife in the senate siaee early In the session, offered another resolution which proposes to indorse Senator Works for his course on behalf of nation wide equal suffrage. Every effort haa been made by the administration leaders to resist the step proposed by Stanford Althoug the majority ma-jority part - voted almost unanimously for the election of Works two years ago, his course in criticising the national Progressive party caused him to be disowned later by the state organization that sent him to Washington. At the same time, the majority here favors both the single presidential term and equal suffrage, and to take either course with Senator Hanford e resolutions sdoptlon or rejection would be distasteful. |
